Named for a scenic town in southern Italy, Potenza, DC’s favorite new Italian restaurant, is an authentic Italian showplace. Executive chef Bryan Moscatello has long been dedicated to exploring excellence in ground breaking American cuisine prepared primarily with the best in locally sourced seasonal ingredients.  At Potenza, he has returned to his Italian American roots, creating a delightful menu of familiar and authentic rustic Italian dishes.

So, prepare yourself for a place steeped in tradition, comfort and warmth. Located in the historic Woodward Building, architectural details have been meticulously preserved, incorporated into a space that houses an active open kitchen. It's a feeling of old world detail that you might expect to find in Foggia, Italy.

An in house bakery prepares breads, pastas and desserts daily alongside a salumi counter and raw bar, allowing for a more cosmopolitan experience when time is of the essence. A 6000 pound pizza oven has been installed alongside the extensive main line to offer a robust and dynamic menu.

This unique combination of old world charm and exquisite dining draws you into the surroundings and energy of the inviting room, the unique food and the matchless service.
